The Steven Milford Independent Living Experience, known as SMILE, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they navigate the challenges of adulthood. Each year, an increasing number of adults are left without meaningful and sustainable living options. A gap SMILE is determined to close

SMILE is working to change that. We are building community homes where individuals can live with peers who share similar abilities and aspirations, supported by caring professionals who provide guidance, structure, and compassion.

Our goal is simple yet profound: to ensure that every resident of a SMILE home is not only supported but truly connected, valued, and included as a full member of their community.
